Talk about a crazy month. Amy and I returned from Jamaica and I had one day to relax at home before I was off again to Colorado. My first few days was in the town of Alamosa then back to Del Norte for a few days then off to Texas for annual training.
Colorado was not terribly busy but it was steady. I enjoyed a wood fired pizza from a local brewery in Del Norte – sadly no beer for me as I was on duty. We got the red carpet treatment in Durango when picking up a patient. These FBOs, basically airport terminals for folks flying private planes, are just amazing. Provo had amazing views from the air.
After my time in Colorado I was off to Texas where I got to meet the other float nurses and perform our annual skills to keep current as flight nurses.
We got a chance to relax, mingle and share our experiences from across the country. We are all flight nurses who float all over for the company. Great fellowship with the team.
After Texas I had about a week at home to catch up on some chores. Then it was off to Nevada to get in on a trauma class to complete my Nevada EMS-RN license. I’ve had many trauma classes in the past but this is one I’ve never had and is one of three Nevada accepts.
I didn’t take many photos when in NV because it was just a classroom with peers doing education. I flew into Salt Lake City and drove to Elko, NV. Between the two is the Bonneville Salt Flats where land speed records have been set. That was super cool to see as a gear head.
The class was only a couple of days and I was anxious to get home. I’ve been on the road a lot these last 2 months. I have seen some amazing places and met some awesome folks but I’m ready to be home for a bit longer than a week.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
