September had me going to a new location – Southern Colorado. I flew into Colorado Springs and got my rental car and headed west and south. Colorado is just a beautiful state. Many years ago I visited and all the memories of the beauty of this are came flooding back to me.
The views driving were just amazing. My phone just doesn’t do it justice.
Once there staffing was light so I had some free time to get exercise in and cook some meals instead of eating out. This hitch I made an effort to workout and eat healthier when on assignment.
My boss told me that this area is some of the most amazing views while flying and she was correct.
Del Norte is a small town and most traffic was people passing through. I saw tons of campers, ATVs and motorcycles. I actually saw so many adventure motorcycles I began to get nostalgic for my old BMW.
On my way back to Colorado Springs I stopped at a restaurant located inside an old airplane near the airport. The food was average but the history and cool factor was definitely high. The waiter shared facts about the aircraft and pointed out a table that one of the astronauts who walked on the moon would sit at when he would come to dine.
Soon I was to be home and super excited for my next trip: Jamaica!
I’m slated to return to Colorado for my next assignment. Until next post –
Seek adventure and get busy living.
