I got home from water egress training and less than 12 hours home I was on another plane bound for Wyoming. Well… I flew into Rapid City, SD then drove to Gillette. Sometimes the most cost effective flights to a location get me there a few hours early so I sometimes can find something to see along the way. This trip that was Devil’s Tower. I have seen it from the sky many times but today I closer by ground.

I was only in Gillette for about 7 days this round because I have my anniversary trip coming soon. The last time I was in Gillette was when I was still on orientation over 2 years ago. Much has changed since my last visit. I traded my normal work hitch with a friend who wanted to attend a conference and I would get to go on my anniversary trip without burning too much PTO. Win-win.

Lots of night flying again and interrupted sleep due to weather holds. My last night I was up almost 40 hours before making it home. One night or early morning we timed out for duty and after I rested I found a car museum to tour in town.
Frontier Auto museum and Cafe is not just a car museum but it was also full of Americana scenes. Just a great place to visit if you ever get by there.

My last day was a long one but I was happy to get home and prepare for my next trip.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
