New state! This is my first assignment outside of Wyoming since starting with the company. I was excited for several reasons: its a new place and several of my friends from my new hire academy work in this area. I flew into Albuquerque and got my car then headed west for Gallup.
I arrived and got situated in the crew house and met my local contact. First few days were steady and I got to hang out with a friend from new hire – Vanessa.
This photo was taken very late and possibly early into the morning.
New Mexico was a crazy place. This base has 3 planes and 2 helicopters – all are busy. I was also shocked at the elevation of 6500-6800ft above sea level! This makes for some cool evenings.
The remainder of the time I worked with different crews and flew on different planes. I got to hang with another friend from my new hire academy – Tim.
Not only did I hang with friends from new hire but met some awesome folks from all over including one of my favorite places – the Caribbean.
The last few days we were stuck flying nights…. I was exhausted. Sadly I didn’t get a spare day to sight see but I was thankful to get home to my family who I’ve missed in my time gone.
This was a busier assignment both for flights and training. I was tired but it was good – I needed it to boost my confidence for my upcoming orientation testing.
My flights home were delay by about 2 hours. I missed putting the kids to bed on my travel day home but I got to wake them the next morning for school.
Until next month my friends.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
