Sandals Royal Plantation – Travel Journal Entry – Sept ’25

Posted on October 26, 2025October 19, 2025

This is our 6th visit to this resort. We started going here in September of 2023 and have been addicted since. This trip was to celebrate our 8th anniversary, see friends who we meet here every year and enjoy the best hotel staff I’ve ever met.

We took an early flight allowing us to arrive on the beach having lunch by 1:30pm. This being our 6th visit really has us feeling it when they greet us with “Welcome Home”.

This trip was extra special because we surpassed a new loyalty benchmark – 70 paid nights. The reward we get is a free week at Sandals resorts for our loyalty.

This trip I also went SCUBA diving almost every day there. My first day there I went to the dive shop and was told that I need to take the advanced course. I needed to get this so that I could go on the deeper dives and not hold the group back.

My favorite part of this trip was that we were overlapping with some friends who are usually there during the same time in September. We got to share dinners, hang out on the beach, watch a football game and celebrate a birthday together. Its amazing how just sharing a location for a few days per year has made it so we really look forward to this trip every year.

Our last day and on the way home we debated and discussed how we would use our free week. Would we save money this year and use it to pay for our trip next September? Would we add a trip to Royal Plantation? Would we go to a new island since the trip is a free week? So many options and questions. Where to now?

When I arrived home I was happy to have a long break before returning to work. I can catch up on some self-care routines like getting my gym routine solid for a few weeks, cleaning the garage, washing the house and doing some yard work.

So where do you think we will use our free week? Should we go to a new island and resort and compare it to our new favorite?

Seek adventure and get busy living.

-Ben

Debbie and I looked at each other and made a simultaneous response of this being an opportunity to explore someplace new. I looked at the Sandals website and selected St Vincent in St Vincent and the Grenadines for you. You are welcome! I am sure more conversations will follow.

We were awarded our free week on our last visit. We have decided on Curacao for our free week. St. Vincent was up there but availability and limited flight options had us decide on Curacao. Let us know how you like it!
