Fort Liberty, NC (formerly Fort Bragg) is home to several Army Airborne divisions and Special Forces groups. History and more specifically military history is fascinating to me so this was a must do since I am working close by.
The museum is free to the public. The flow of the museum follows a progression of time with much about the WWII and modern era of Airborne and Special operations.
This last image is probably the one that had the most impact on me to see. This is the rotor head of Super 61 from Somalia. The same from the story of Black Hawk Down. I recall the events in the news as a young man and then as a young adult reading Mark Bowden’s book and of course the move of the same title.
The museum can be toured in about 2 hours if you read and take in all the information. It is well worth the stop if you are passing through or are close by.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
