April rolled around and it was back to Wyoming for me. This time I would fly into Casper and rent a car and drive to my first assignment for 5 days in a town on the north east corner called Gillette. There was still snow melting quickly away from the winter. Everything still wet and muddy. I found my crew apartment and got settled. Not many flights this first assignment. Our company had some upgrades to do to our aircraft so its been slow getting planes back up and running.
Halfway through my 10 day stretch I drove across the Big Horn mountains to the next spot – Worland, WY. The drive was amazing and had me wishing I was on a motorcycle going through the state parks and mountain passes. I stopped to take some photos when I could.
The next 5 days were slow for work – My plane was being upgraded. We helped a crew with 2 patients by going to the hospital and preparing them for transport then handing them off. I spent a lot of time studying for my upcoming end of orientation test.
At the end of my hitch I had a day to kill before my fight home. So, on advice from a friend at church, I went up to Cody, WY and saw the Buffalo Bill museum then drove into the Shoshone national park and Buffalo Bill state park for some views. Worth it! I would love to go back with the family one day.
Wyoming is a beautiful state to see. I wish photos would do it justice but they don’t. If you can go see this place for yourself – seize the opportunity.
Until next time….
Seek adventure and get busy living.
