Kayenta, AZ. Its been a while since I was here last – nearly 2 years. The base is just south of Monument Valley. I have a post of my visit to the area last time I was here – you should go back and check it out.
I flew into Flagstaff – small airport – then drove northeast for a couple of hours to our base in Kayenta. The first day and a half our plane was out of service in maintenance. Then we go a loaner plane from Gallup, NM. In the meantime I got some steps in around the airport and had dinner with the crew.

My first partner was a newer guy and we got busy flying. We had a couple flights and some training. Next day – New partner for the next few days. We were also busy – detailed bag checks, 6 flights and several weather holds. Not to mention the turbulence was moderate and constant – talk about adding to stressors of flight. Then a new partner for the last couple days. Few more weather holds and flights. Many were critical patients also.

13 patient flights, lots of turbulence and some of the best views I’ve had all year. Good hitch but man was I tired after. What is coming next? Leave me your best guess.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
