The end of June has me traveling back to Rosebud, SD. Honestly, I’m excited. This base has one of the best layouts and workflows that I have had the chance to work at so far with the company. The gym is good, hangar is big, I have my own room with ensuite bath and the hospital is very close. The downside is that there is nothing close – only a gas station and we are very busy on nights.

The long nights, while hard on the body and circadian rhythm, makes for some great views.

While I didn’t get a chance to do any touring when in town, we did fly by Rushmore and Crazy Horse when leaving Rapid City one morning while avoiding storms.

What makes long busy shifts bearable? The people I get to work with. Mike – the base manager and my partner was great to work with. All the pilots I flew with were great guys and as always they teach me something new about aviation every flight.
The upcoming months will be busy for travel. Stay tuned.
Seek adventure and get busy living.
